Corruption ring uncovered at Italy's ministry of education

Rome, June 24 - Prosecutors have uncovered an alleged corruption ring within the Italian ministry of education, sources said Monday. Several ministry officials and consultants are being probed for abuse of office after an anonymous dossier tipped investigators off. They allegedly took bribes to divert hundreds of millions of euros' worth of contracts to bribe-paying companies. Investigators are looking into hefty sums paid out for a multimedia teaching tool called Knowledge Pills, sources said.
