Extreme-right protesters set Red Cross tent on fire

Rome, June 21 - Members from the extreme-right group Casapound accidentally set a large tent on fire while protesting outside an annual Red Cross meeting on Friday in Mantua, northern Italy. "As the meeting of roughly 500 delegates was about to begin a group of about 20 Casapound members came by, shouting and brandishing flares and smoke bombs," one witness said. Flames from the devices reportedly reached the Red Cross tent due to strong gusts of wind, setting it ablaze and forcing members to flee. The fire was eventually put out by the fire department and no one was reported injured. Witnesses said the Casapound demonstrators fled the scene.
