(ANSAmed) - MERSIN (TURKEY), JUNE 20 - Turkish Premier Recep Tayipp Erdogan will attend the opening ceremonies of the 17th Mediterranean Games tonight, officials said. He will stay at the Hilton, as will Italian Olympic Committee President Giovanni Malago'. The hotel has displayed signs welcoming the premier ahead of his arrival later this afternoon, and a discreet but significant deployment of security agents is already in place due to the anti-government protests that have been rocking Turkey for weeks. Sport Minister Suat Kilic, Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Celik, and Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan will also be present. Tickets for the ceremony at Mersin Stadium sold out in just a few hours.
