Rome, June 20 - The European Union said on Thursday that it would refer Italy to its Court of Justice for the management of waste in the southern region of Campania and propose sanctions for delays in enacting previous sentences. The country faces a daily fine of 256,819 until it enacts measures to clean up its trash issues as recommended by the European court. The region around Naples has had a series of trash crises over the years.
