Disabled woman mauled by dogs dies

Vercelli, June 19 - An 83-year-old disabled woman died after three out of 100 dogs living with her attacked her and mauled her in a home-kennel in the northern town of Carisio, near Vercelli, Carabinieri police said Wednesday. The woman, Lidia Bider, who was paralysed and had serious health problems, was forced to live with the dogs by her daughter and her partner. Carabinieri police arrested the couple on abuse charges and for abandoning the disabled woman and causing her death. Bider was reportedly attacked by two rottweilers and a Spanish Dalmatian who were kept in the same room with her. Police investigating the death said the dogs were also treated poorly.
