Rome, June 19 - Rudi Garcia promised his team would play attractive, winning soccer on Wednesday when he was presented as AS Roma's new coach. "I'm not scared of anything," the 49-year-old Frenchman told a press conference. "I'm here to win with a team that must give the fans a good time. "I already know the city, it is full of history, and I know that this team have great ambitions". Garcia said both captain Francesco Totti and Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi are part of his plans. There have been doubts about the future of both footballers, born-and-bred Romans who have played for no other club as pros. Totti, 36, is looking to extend his contract, which expires next year. There has been speculation, meanwhile, that De Rossi might be sold in the closed season after coming under fire from some Roma fans last season for several poor displays. "You'll see during the season that I'm a coach who gives great importance to having a team that needs talented players," said Garcia. "Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi are important players. "Totti will have an important role on and off the field. "De Rossi is a national-team player and I can't wait to meet him and the others".
