Milan, June 17 - A Milan civil appeals court on Monday ordered Paolo Berlusconi, the younger brother of ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi, and a company called Societa' Europea Golf (SEG), to pay more than 11 million euros compensation in a corruption case stemming from the 1990's. The civil appeals court upheld a 2009 ruling that Paolo Berlusconi, the 63-year-old publisher of Il Giornale newspaper, was liable for corruption in relation to the construction of the Tolcinasco golf club in the town of Pieve Emanuele south of Milan. Berlusconi and SEG were ordered to pay 11,111,500.00 euros in damages to the Pieve Emanuele municipality - roughly six million more than the original ruling. The difference was justified by accounting interest and revaluation. The ex-premier's brother is taking the case to Italy's supreme Court of Cassation.
