Rome, June 11 - Disciplinary action has begun against former Palermo prosecutor Antonio Ingroia over his political activities, authorities announced Tuesday. The chief prosecutor of Aosta has initiated action against Ingroia in Italy's Cassation Court alleging that Ingroia continued to pursue his political interests longer than permitted. Ingroia had been given permission to campaign for election in last February's general vote, but allegedly continued in politics longer than permitted. The former anti-Mafia prosecutor led the left-wing Civic Revolution party which folded after doing poorly in the general election. After the election, Ingroia was appointed deputy prosecutor in the northwestern city of Aosta.
