Italian spread back over 270 basis points

Rome, June 11 - The spread between interest rates on Italian bonds and German bonds returned over the 270-basis-points threshold on Tuesday, climbing to 275 basis points. The yield on Italian 10-year bonds rose to 4.34%. The spread between Spanish bonds and the German benchmark rose to 305 basis points with the yield on 10-year Spanish bonds at 4.65%. The spread is a key measure of borrowing costs and of investor confidence in Italy and Spain's ability to weather the eurozone crisis.
