Rome, June 10 - The body of an Italian soldier serving with NATO International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) killed in a hand-grenade attack in Afghanistan landed at Rome's Ciampino airport on Monday, government sources said. Giuseppe La Rosa, 31, is the 53rd Italian to be killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of NATO operations. The attack took place in Farah Province in western Afghanistan on Saturday when two men on a motorcycle threw a grenade at a group of Italian soldiers, killing La Rosa and wounding two others. The convoy of Italians was heading back from the province's capital Farah to an ISAF base nearby, the Italian defense ministry said. The Taliban have claimed responsibility, saying that the attacker was an 11-year-old boy. Two American soldiers and an American civilian were also killed on Saturday in Afghanistan, officials said.
