World's oldest doctor's bag on display in Florence

Florence, June 7 - One of the oldest doctor's kit, believed to be more than 2,000 years old, will be on display in Florence starting next week. The kit, which contains wooden vials for medicine, pitchers for preparations, iron tools for bloodletting and even a scalpel for small incisions, was recently discovered on an ancient ship that most likely sunk 2,200 years ago off the coast of Tuscany in the bay of Baratti. Hosted in Florence's Palazzo Vecchio, the exhibition also includes tablets for an eyedrop solution dubbed 'Pliny the Elder' drops.
