European stock markets rise on positive U.S. payrolls report

Milan, June 7 - Markets advanced across Europe on Thursday, paced by Milan's FTSE-MIB index, after an economic report in the US showed that more workers were hired in the world's largest economy. US payrolls gained 175,000 in May, up from a 149,000 increase in April, according to a Friday report from the Labour Department. Italy's FTSE-MIB index gained 1% to 16,691 points. The yield spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the German benchmark equivalent, a barometer of Italy's borrowing costs in the eurozone crisis, closed at 265 points with 10-year yields at 4.2%. The Frankfurt Dax bourse 1.9% at 8,254, while the Paris Cac 40 Index advanced 1.5% to 3,872 points. Madrid's Ibex index gained 1.2% to 8,266 points. London's Ftse-100 stock market advanced 1.2% to 6,412 points.
