Concerns rising that marine biology is unbalanced

Fishers' league in Liguria says tuna crowding out other fish

Savona, June 7 - There are just too many fish in the Ligurian Sea - at least, too many tuna fish, an organization of fishers said Friday. The dominance of large tuna threatens other species to the point of creating a natural disaster, said the Legacoop Fishing League Liguria, which wants to see a balance returned to the waters of the Italian coast. Data collected in recent years suggested a dramatic alteration has occurred in the marine biology of the sea, says the league.
