Iron Maiden tickets hot item despite crisis in Italy

Milan, June 5 - Metal-heads in Milan appear to have more disposable income than some. As of Wednesday, 35,000 tickets to Iron Maiden's concert this Saturday have been sold, despite the 60-euro price tag, according to reports. "Sales are going beyond expectations," said Andrea Pieroni, one of the promoters of the Sonisphere Festival that will include the British heavy-metal band. Iron Maiden, fronted by Bruce Dickinson, is in Europe on a world tour that is drawing new fans as well as middle-aged metal-heads who remember the band from its founding in the mid-1970s. Concerts are proving to be a hot draw despite Italy's recession. Earlier this week, American rocker Bruce Springsteen played to 50,000-plus fans at the Stadio San Siro in Milan. His Monday concert was part of a European tour that will include Rome on July 11.
