Livorno, June 4 - Five managers of the Belgian-owned Solvay chemical plant in Tuscany are under investigation for illegal dumping in the sea. According to local daily Il Tirreno, the directors are suspected of discarding industrial sludge off the coast of Rosignano Marittimo and hiding four discharge sites from authorities. The managers have reportedly moved for a plea bargain that would include a clean-up worth up to 10 million euros.
