Pope Francis wants Rome summit with Jewish, Muslim leaders

Jerusalem, May 29 - Pope Francis intends to organize a summit in Rome with Jewish and Muslim leaders, sources said Wednesday. Francis, who became pope only three months ago, told Israeli President Shimon Peres of his plans for a religious leaders' summit when the pair met on April 30, Israeli sources said. The Pope intends to hold the meeting in Rome where the leaders can jointly express their commitment to peace and their rejection of violence and terrorism.
