Soccer: Roma-Lazio Cup final will be trouble-free 'festival'

Rome, May 23 - AS Roma and Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi said Friday that he confident Sunday's Italian Cup final against city rivals Lazio will be a trouble-free "festival" of soccer. There are fears that the first encounter between the bitter rivals in a Cup final could be marred by trouble after serious violence before last month's derby in a Serie A match. "I'm confident about the derby," De Rossi said after delegations from Roma and Lazio met President Giorgio Napolitano at the Quirinale palace. "It will be a splendid festival. There are lots of people who want to go the stadium in the hope of celebrating (victory for their team) but they'll leave the weapons and knives at home. "We on the field will have to be the first ones not to go too far. We feel the responsibility not to ignite the fans' emotions". De Rossi was sent off for punching Lazio's Stefano Mauri in a derby match in November.
