Novara, May 24 - Eight minors are being probed for the January suicide of a 14-year-old girl in the northern Italian city of Novara, investigators said on Friday. The teenagers, between 15 and 17 years old, are being probed for suspected incitement of suicide and possession of child pornography. A preliminary reconstruction at the time of the girl's suicide said that "negative gossip" may have pushed her to jump from window to her death. News of her suicide triggered a torrent of hundreds of Twitter messages from friends and relatives fingering gossip-mongering bullies, investigators found. "What a horrible act you had to do because of bad people," said one Twitter comment. "You shouldn't have given a damn. (You should have) thought of yourself and not what others say," said another. "Tomorrow I have to go back to school and see those idiots. I can't do it," read yet another. The teenager went to a party with friends the same night she leaped from her parents' window, and was not known to have particular problems or psychological issues.
