Giro d'Italia 19th stage cancelled for bad weather

Rome, May 24 - The 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia was cancelled on Friday due to bad weather conditions, organizers said. On Thursday, the route was modified due to hazardous stretches, but on Friday organizers cited "adverse weather conditions and, in particular, snow on the stage route in its entirety". The three-week Giro finishes in Brescia on May 26 and Italian Vincenzo Nibali holds a 4:02 lead over Cadel Evans, Tour de France 2011 winner.
