Former dancer tells pimping trial that she 'stayed alone'

Ruby says she had her own room as Berlusconi's guest

Milan, May 13 - The former exotic dancer at the centre of a sex scandal involving ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi testified Friday that he gave her her own room at his villa and she slept alone after a party there. Karima El Mahroug, who went by the stage name Ruby, said that after the second party she attended at Berlusconi's villa in Arcore, she was shown to a private bedroom. "(Berlusconi) told me that I could stay the night there," she testified. "So I stayed alone". She was testifying at the trial of three people accused of pimping for the ex-premier. The accused are retired TV anchorman and close Berlusconi friend Emilio Fede, bankrupt ex-talent scout Lele Mora and Nicole Minetti, an ex-Lombardy regional councillor and the ex-premier's former dental hygienist. The trio are charged with the alleged procurement of prostitutes, including Ruby, who was a year below the legal age for prostitution at the time of the alleged sex parties hosted by Berlusconi in 2010.
