Rome, May 16 - Centre-right leader Silvio Berlusconi has decided to cancel scheduled appearances at rallies for his People of Freedom (PdL) party's mayoral candidates because he was "shaken" by scuffles involving leftist opponents at Saturday's event in Brescia. "Berlusconi was particularly shaken by the street violence that occurred in Brescia and has therefore decided to cancel the upcoming electoral rallies," said PdL bigwig Denis Verdini. But the three-time premier will address a rally for PdL Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno, who is seeking re-election May 26, Verdini added.
