Turin, May 15 - Prison terms ranging as high as almost 15 years were handed down Wednesday against six people all convicted of mafia association. Sentences were also handed down on two minor offences following a trial in Turin involving five brothers in the Magnis family. They were convicted of forming a local gang connected with the 'Ndrangheta crime organization from the southern region of Calabria. One of the convicted brothers, Ottavia Magnis, complained that his family has been accused of being part of every possible gang or terror organization in the world. "I don't know if I am part of the Cosa Nostra, the 'Ndrangheta or maybe al-Qaida," he said.
