Venturino ousted from 5-Star Movement, Grillo blog says

Palermo, May 9 - Interim Deputy Parliament Speaker Antonio Venturino, who ran in the last regional elections under the banner of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S), has been ousted from the group for going against party rules and keeping part of the retribution he was supposed to forgo. "Venturino is out of the M5S", comedian-turned-politician Beppe Grillo, the founder of the group, wrote on the M5S blog. Giancarlo Cancelleri, caucus leader in the Sicilian regional assembly, said the decision was taken because Venturino announced he would no longer forego part of his pay for being in office, in violation of M5S regulations. Venturino recently contested M5S's decision not to back an attempt to form a government by Pier Luigi Bersani earlier this year, when he still headed the Democratic Party (PD), criticising the choice as paving the way for the centre-right People of Freedom (PdL) party to come to power in a the current grand coalition cabinet.
