Man sets himself on fire in Ancona prefect's office

Ancona, May 8 - A 54-year-old Tunisian man is in serious condition after setting himself on fire in the prefect's office of the Adriatic city of Ancona. Witness said that the man, accompanied by his daughter, began ringing the buzzer "insistently" to enter the city government building. Employees alerted police, citing his "erratic" behaviour, but before officers arrived the man entered the building, doused himself with what is believed to have been alcohol and lit himself on fire. The man, who works as a mover, had recently been stripped of his vehicle registration for a traffic violation and may have been going to the office to protest.
