Palermo, May 7 - An 18-year-old man who already has a lengthy criminal record was arrested Tuesday for robbing three banks in just 24 hours, police say. The accused, Massimo Carista, is said to have taken about 16,000 euros in the triple heist last September, by authorities who claim they had suspected all three were the work of a single person. Video and other computer anti-theft programs backed up that theory. For example, one bank that was robbed used software that recorded the footprints of anyone coming inside. Despite his young age, police say Carista was responsible for several previous robberies and thefts.
