Lazio's Zingaretti Italy's most popular governor

Rome, May 7 - Lazio Governor Nicola Zingaretti is Italy's most popular regional government chief, according to a survey released Tuesday by the Datamonitor Institute. Zingaretti of the centre-left Democratic Party (PD) has an approval rating of 60.4%, the survey said. The governor of the region around Rome was elected in February. Before that he was the head of the Rome provincial government. He is the brother of popular actor Luca Zingaretti. Another PD man, Tuscan Governor Enrico Rossi, was second with an approval rating of 58.8%. The Northern League's Veneto Governor Luca Zaia was third with 57.4%. Fourth was Campania Governor Stefano Caldoro of ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi's People of Freedom (PdL) party.
