Former company executive admits to stealing books

(ANSA) – Casale Monferrato (Alessandria), May 2 – An unemployed company executive has admitted to stealing books, since he can't afford to buy them, according to a report filed on Thursday by police in the Northern Italian city of Casale Monferrato. The former manager, 60, was in tears when he told the officers of his "thirst for culture", adding that he he stole books in some 50 occasions as he wasn't able to afford them after he lost his job.
