Traffic cop accused of faking marriage for leave

Reggio Emilia, May 2 - A traffic policewoman in Reggio Emilia, central Italy, is accused of pretending to get married in order to obtain a 20-day marriage license. The 27-year-old posted images of her alleged wedding on Facebook. The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, now faces fraud charges. Her attorney Enrico Della Capanna told a local newspaper that the traffic officer's wedding took place in the United States and the marriage has not been registered in Italy. Police started investigating the marriage after they placed the officer under house arrest together with her 39-year-old partner on drug trafficking charges.
