Florence, April 25 - It's too early to discuss a leadership race in the Democratic Party (PD), top contender Matteo Renzi said Thursday. "I believe that it is absolutely premature to discuss now what will happen in the (competition to become) secretary of the Democratic Party," said Renzi, who is mayor of Florence. Renzi came second in last winter's race for PD secretary to Pier Luigi Bersani. Bersani, however, resigned last weekend after failing to form a coalition government. His deputy in the PD, Enrico Letta, was tapped Wednesday by Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, as possible premier with a mandate to try again to form a government.
