Ruby nightclub trial postponed for third time

Maglia, April 19 - A court hearing in which Moroccan former nightclub dancer Karima El Mahroug was expected to be heard had to be postponed on Friday for the third time after the woman accused of having sold sexual services to former premier Silvio Berlusconi when she was underage failed yet again to attend. The trial has identified the woman, also known as Ruby, as the party offended by Tempo Zero nightclub manager Mino Brandolino and owner Silvano Turco. Ruby had been slated to perform in the club in Maglie, in the region of Puglia in Southern Italy, on March 31, 2011. Court officials have been unable to notify the woman of her court deposition obligations in the court hearing at her residence address in Genoa, the third time such an attempt has gone in vain. The trial is due to run in parallel with another one in which Ruby is indicted of alleged threats to the owner of another local nightclub in the Puglia region where she was supposed to perform two years ago. The show was cancelled because Ruby arrived late, and the owner refused to pay her for failing to maintain the terms of the contract. Both trials have been postponed to July 19, when Ruby's next depositions are slated.
