More Italian babies named 'Francis' since pope elected

Turin, April 19 - More parents in Italy appear to be naming their babies 'Francis' ever since the election of Pope Francis last month. According to Sant'Anna Hospital in Turin, which hosts one of the biggest maternity wards in the country, 24 out of 724 babies born there since the former archbishop of Buenos Aires was elected have been named 'Francesco', the Italian equivalent to Francis. By the same time last year, more babies had been born there, but only 18 were named Francis, according to the hospital.
