Rome, April 18 - Former Senate Speaker Franco Marini will not be elected president in Thursday's first ballot for the next head of state. With the count ongoing, the number of votes not to go to Marini went beyond 335, meaning he cannot reach the magic number of 672 - two thirds of the Upper and Lower House lawmakers and regional government representatives.
