Bank of Italy calls for moves to stop 'recessive spiral'

Rome, April 17 - The Bank of Italy on Wednesday called for measures to stop the "recessive spiral" the Italian economy has been in "almost non-stop" since the crisis of 2008. "Effective and credible economic policy measures" are needed, it said. The economy is in its worst recession for 20 years and Italy without a government for 50 days since an inconclusive general election.
