Belgrade, April 15 - Former Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini, a candidate for NATO secretary-general, said Monday he was about to assume the role as head of "an important department at the Council of State". The role at Italy's highest administrative tribunal, said Frattini on a visit to Belgrade, would entail "evaluating procedures of the government, something I very much enjoy". Frattini served under ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi until his administration was forced out of office with a no-confidence vote in parliament amid a peak in the euro crisis.
