Employers group says factory closures like deaths in family

Turin, April 12 - Italy's employers association Confindustria said factory closures were like deaths in the family on Friday, calling for a minute of silence at the congress held by its small industry division in Turin to protest the "strong economic emergency" facing the eurozone's third-largest economy. "It is a silence in honor of the companies that had to shut down, that were unable to survive the strong economic crisis, as well as for those who continue to resist," said Vincenzo Boccia, president of the small industry division.
