Italian police bust two big drug rings, 47 arrested

Turin, April 11 - Police said they have broken two big drug rings operating in Italy, arresting 47 people in the northern regions of Piedmont, Lombardy and Veneto. The arrested people are Senegalese and Nigerian migrants suspected of belonging to two organisations that imported heroin and cocaine from Africa and Latin America. The narcotics arrived via drugs mules or were hidden in kitchen utensils that were carried into Italy. One of the bands is said to have turned to a witch doctor for advice on how and when to send the drugs couriers to Italy.
