Bourse surges as spread falls to 300

Milan, April 10 - The Milan bourse rose more than 3% after the yield spread between Italian and German bonds fell to a 40-day low of 300 points Wednesday. The spread, a gauge of market confidence in Italy's ability to pay down its huge debt, dropped to its lowest since the start of March, soon after inconclusive February 24-25 elections. The yield was down to 4.30%.
