Soccer: Four banned over barrage on Milan CEO at Fiorentina

Florence, April 9 - Four Florentine men have been banned from attending soccer matches after attempts to attack AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani during Sunday's 2-2 draw against Fiorentina. Galliani had to leave the VIP stand after he was abused and came under a barrage of objects following the referee's controversial decision to send off a Fiorentina player. One of Galliani's bodyguards was hit in the eye by an object. Two of the men, aged 50 and 52, were banned from soccer stadiums for three years and reported to prosecutors. The other two, including a 72-year-old man who had to be held back from attacking Galliani by police, were banned for two years. Fiorentina apologised for the incident at Sunday's match, but said Galliani had contributed to the heated scenes by arguing with a boy. Milan denied any such argument had taken place in a statement.
