Prosecutors seek life imprisonment for accused murderer

Police hunt for three bodies of mobsters killed 16 years ago

Turin, April 8 - Police were searching Monday for the bodies of three mafia members believed murdered 16 years ago in a feud. The search was focused in the countryside near Volpiano, after police were told where to look for the graves by Rosario Marando, accused in the three murders triggered by a feud within the Calabria-based 'Ndrangheta mob. Marando, who said he was only involved in their burials, directed police where to find the bodies of Antonio and Antonino Stefanelli and Franco Mancuso. Prosecutors are asking for life imprisonment for Marando and four other defendants accused in a total of four murders around the city of Turin.
