We aren't wasting time says Napolitano

(see previous). Rome, April 4 - The Italian political system is not wasting time in seeking a way out of the post-election impasse, President Giorgio Napolitano said Thursday. Napolitano, who has named 10 'wise men' to propose consensus policies, rebutted a call for "faster action" from Florence Mayor Matteo Renzi. Renzi called on his Democratic Party (PD) to either form a grand coalition with ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi's People of Freedom (PdL) party or agree to another election following February's inconclusive vote. PD leader Pier Luigi Bersani, who is awaiting the wise men's proposals and may make a second bid to form a government despite the blanket refusal of comedian-turned-politician Beppe Grillo's 5-Star Movement, declined to comment on Renzi's call, saying only "we are here".
