Fake online insurance company busted in Rimini

Rimini, March 28 - Nine people were cited on Thursday for insurance fraud after police busted a scam selling auto coverage online and by a toll-free number. The group, based in the city of Rimini on the Adriatic coast, advertised liability insurance at basement low prices and carried out all operations via Internet and call center. After signing an online agreement and paying, clients were sent a fake insurance display sticker and a false contract. Police tracked down the gang after pulling over several 'clients' who explained how they had acquired the fake policies.
