Knox proceeding with book about Italian arrest, prison

New York, March 27 - Amanda Knox is proceeding on April 30 with the launch of the memoir of her arrest and imprisonment in Italy for murder, according to media reports Wednesday in the United States. Just one day earlier, Italy's top court overturned the 2011 acquittal of Knox and her co-accused Raffaele Sollecito on charges that they murdered British student Meredith Kercher in 2007 in Perugia. Knox, who lives in Seattle, and Sollecito, who lives in Verona, were convicted in 2009 but acquitted on appeal two years later. Tuesday's decision by Italy's Court of Cassation means the pair will stand trial at an appeals court again, this time in Florence. Knox signed a publishing contract for $4 million to tell the story. On the same date as her book launch, Knox will also give her first interview since her release from prison, to journalist Diane Sawyer on the ABC television network.
