Six local councils dissolved for mafia infiltration

Rome, March 27 - The outgoing national government dissolved six local councils in southern Italy on Wednesday over concerns of mafia infiltration. The cabinet, following a proposal from the interior ministry, dissolved local councils in Palermo, Naples, Catania and Reggio Calabria. Periodically, local councils are dismantled when it is feared that the bodies have been taken over by mafia organizations.
