Consumer confidence slips in March after February lift

National worries over unemployment stoking spending drop

Rome, March 25 - Italian consumer confidence dropped once again in March after a slight rise in February, Istat said Friday. The confidence index slipped to 68.8 points from February's 72.7, the statistics agency said. Worries about unemployment and the deteriorating economic situation were behind the fall, Istat said.
