IMF calls for the formation of a stable government in Italy

New York, February 28 - The International Monetary Fund called Thursday for the formation of a stable government in Italy. "Stability is always a good thing, essential, and not only in Italy," said an IMF spokesman. The comments came following Italy's inconclusive general election earlier this week. The spokesman also urged Italy "to continue on the path of reforms," particularly in improving productivity and the reform of labour markets. The agency also noted that economic and employment growth within the eurozone remains very weak.
