Obama calls Napolitano 'extraordinary leader and visionary'

Washington, February 15 - US President Barack Obama called outgoing Italian President Giorgio Napolitano "an extraordinary leader and visionary" on Friday. "Not just for Italy, but also for Europe," said Obama at the White House, applauding Napolitano for his "extraordinary service" in seven years as Italian president ending in May. Napolitano's successor will be appointed a parliament which is set for re-election February 24-25. The elections and the formation of a new government were a key topic of discussion between the two leaders Friday.
