Monti says no need for supplementary budget

Rome, February 14 - Outgoing Italian Premier Mario Monti on Thursday said he does not believe a supplementary budget will be needed as part of Italy's efforts to get its debt situation under control even as the country's economic performance worsens. Speaking to journalists in the southern city of Lecce, Monti said: "I don't think we need a supplementary budget. The (GDP) figures are negative, but in line with expectations".
