Milan, February 12 - Nicolo' Pollari, the former head of Italy's SISMI secret-service agency, said Tuesday he was shocked after being sentenced to 10 years in prison for involvement in the CIA abduction of Muslim cleric Hassan Mustafa Omar Nasr in Milan in 2003. "I'm disconcerted. A person who everyone in Italy knows is innocent has been convicted," Pollari told ANSA. Pollari pointed out that the late Italian TV presenter Enzo Tortora, the victim of a miscarriage of justice that saw him falsely accused of drug-trafficking and mafia association, was also sentenced to 10 years in prison.
