AC Milan deny Balotelli had run-in with traffic police

Milan, February 7 - AC Milan on Thursday denied media reports that their tempestuous striker Mario Balotelli had a run-in with traffic police who were in the process of giving him a parking fine at a local airport earlier in the day. ''Contrary to reports by some media sources there was no argument and after the checks Balotelli turned up for his afternoon training session at Milanello as usual,'' the club said in a statement referring to their training complex. Media had reported that the 22-year-old Italy forward was asked to move his car from a no-parking zone at Milan's Linate airport while collecting friends but that he cheekily moved it to another off-limits area instead of putting it in a car park. When the officers then decided to give Balotelli a ticket, the row allegedly got so bad-tempered that members of another police force, the Carabinieri, came to support the traffic police. The officers then ran checks and Balotelli was fined for not having his insurance document with him and not putting his insurance ticket on show. But, in the end, he was not given a parking fine.
