Man stopped with gold bars worth 66,000 euros

Alessandria, February 7 - Finance police seized two kilograms of gold bars worth over 66,000 euros on Thursday from a driver near the northwestern town of Valenza. The driver, who was stopped by police for routine checks, said he was transporting the gold for a Ligurian metalworks company but had no validating documents. Police said that the gold bars were also unmarked.
